Exhibit runs May 1 – October 31, 2026.
Civil Air Patrol is a congressionally chartered, federally funded, 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation and serves as the civilian auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force. Founded Dec. 1, 1941, to mobilize the nation’s civilian aviation resources for national defense service, CAP has evolved into a premier public service organization that is a cost-effective force multiplier for Air Force-assigned missions.
This special exhibit will highlight the role of CAP in civil defense, emergency response, and other missions throughout its history. Featuring historic objects, videos and interactives, this exhibit is great for all ages.
To dedicate the exhibit, a special ceremony will take place at 10:00am on May 16, 2026. Join us for a CAP flyover, speeches by NH Wing Commander Col. Nic Goupil and Northeast Region Historian Lt. Col. Keith Raymond, bagpipes by Capt. Ethan Cray, and more! The event is free for CAP members and their families. The public is also welcome to attend, included with the cost of regular museum admission.
The Wright Museum would like to thank 1st Lt. Lonnie Schorer, CAP NH Wing, Hawk Squadron (Laconia) and Lt. Col. Keith Raymond, CAP Northeast Region Historian for their help creating this exhibit.
