USS Greene Ship’s Bell Dedication

On Thursday, June 25, 2026, the museum will host a special ceremony to dedicate a new display featuring the original ship’s bell from the USS Greene. The display honors the Greene and her crew for service in the Atlantic, Mediterranean, and Pacific during WWII.

The ceremony will include remarks from Mike and Lisa Brien, who generously donated the bell to the museum collection, and a ceremonial bell ringing. The ceremony will be followed by a screening of the short documentary “Greene Kids: The Story of the USS Greene,” produced by Tom Page.

This event will begin at 11am in the museum’s Military Gallery, followed by film screening in the Duquoin Education Center.

The public is welcome to attend the ceremony and the documentary screening, included with regular museum admission.
