Wright Museum hosts canned food drive in September

Through the month of September, the Wright Museum is hosting a canned food drive to benefit Life Ministries Food Pantry in Wolfeboro.

In the month of September, each individual who donates 4 canned goods or non-perishable items will receive half off admission to the Wright Museum. The canned food drive is an annual event and builds off the success of its Victory Gardens in which a variety of vegetables are grown behind to museum to also benefit Life Ministries Food Pantry.

“It is important we give back to the community that gives us so much, too,” said Mike Culver, museum executive director.

The vegetables the Wright Museum supply to the food pantry through its Victory Garden support its goal to provide nine meals per week per family member to between 120 and 150 families. In 2017, the food pantry provided nearly 144,000 meals.

The canned food drive, added Culver, helps to ensure “a wonderful Thanksgiving for those less fortunate.”

Canned food may be dropped off at the Wright Museum from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday. For more information, visit www.wrightmuseum.org.
